ACT 15m DisplayPort Hybrid Fiber/Copper Cable DP Male To M

ACT 15m DisplayPort Hybrid Fiber/Copper Cable DP Male To M | Bridge a longer DisplayPort run

A short cable can leave your screen awkwardly placed when the equipment it connects to is across the room. This ACT cable is 15 metres long, giving you more room to route a DisplayPort connection between equipment. It uses a hybrid fiber and copper construction, and its connector description begins DP Male To M. That makes it relevant when you need a longer cable run and the connection youre setting up calls for DisplayPort. The useful point here is the combination of a stated 15-metre length and a hybrid cable construction; the title doesnt give a resolution or data-rate figure, so I wouldnt use it to promise a particular display mode. For a planned installation, map the route first: the direct distance between devices may be shorter than the path the cable needs to take around furniture or along a wall.

Choosing a cable run

At 15 metres, this is a cable to consider when a standard short lead wont reach the intended position. Think about where the cable will enter and leave the setup, and allow enough length for the route rather than measuring only the gap between the devices. A longer run can help keep equipment out of the way, but it also means youll want to plan how the cable is routed so it doesnt cross a walkway or get pulled tight.

The hybrid fiber/copper wording describes the cable construction, but it doesnt by itself tell you which display resolutions, refresh rates or equipment combinations are supported. Match the connector description to the ports in your setup, and choose this cable for the long DisplayPort connection you need rather than relying on an unstated performance figure. Thats the sensible way to assess a cable when the key known details are its length, connection type and construction.
