TetherTools TetherPro Optima 10G USB-C 10′ (3m) Straight To Straight | A direct USB-C cable for tethered setups

When youre setting up a tethered shoot, cable length matters: the computer needs to sit where you can work, while the cable has to reach between it and the camera. The TetherTools TetherPro Optima 10G USB-C is a 10-foot (3m) cable with straight connectors at both ends. That makes its purpose easy to understand: its a USB-C cable for a tethered setup, with a fixed length and a straight-to-straight connection. It suits photographers who want a 3m run rather than a shorter cable, and whose equipment uses USB-C connections. The honest point to keep in mind is that 3m gives you a defined reach, not unlimited freedom to place your computer. Plan the route before you set up, especially if the cable needs to pass around furniture or across a busy working area.

Planning your cable run

Think about the actual path the cable will take, not just the distance between the camera and computer. A cable routed around a table or stand needs more length than a straight measurement suggests. Leave enough room for the positions you use during a shoot, too; a snug run can get in the way when you move equipment. At the same time, extra slack needs managing so it doesnt trail where people are walking. The 10-foot length gives you a clear starting point for that decision. If your setup keeps the camera and computer close together, a longer run may leave spare cable to organise. For a spread-out arrangement, measure the route first and decide whether 3m reaches comfortably. This is a straightforward cable choice, but the layout of your workspace will determine how convenient that length feels in practice.
